Why paying the dues is important.
Our HOA is dedicated to maintaining the qualities that attracted us all to Terrell Mill Estates. This begins with the members of the board and other homeowners volunteering their time for tasks that benefit everyone. But YOU also play a vital role by paying dues.
The dues are essential to having an attractive and welcoming entrance. Costs include year-round flowers, landscaping, water, power, upkeep of the irrigation and lighting systems, and maintenance of the brickwork, stonework and ironwork.
We also have the cost of keeping homeowners informed on neighborhood matters. We’d love to rely just on email, but we can’t count on everyone seeing every email we send. The only way to ensure that everyone gets the most important information is to also print and distribute it. This means we have printing costs for certain things, such as newsletters and the directory.
Our HOA website is another thing the dues make possible. It was created in response to requests for a convenient and secure place to pay dues online. It has also become a useful resource for news about neighborhood clubs and events. All work on the website is done by volunteers, but we do have the cost for secure hosting. In addition, there are some basic annual expenses, such as state registration, tax filing, and insurance.
As you can see, the dues play a valuable role in the quality of the neighborhood, which is reflected in our very healthy home values. Last year, the vast majority of us made our dues payments by April 1st, which is our goal this year, too. Please take just a minute now to make your payment.

Last call for Directory updates!

ASAP! PLEASE email Bruce any changes from your listing in the current directory, which was done in March of 2021. The blue binder for the printed directory has a clip that makes it easy to swap in new pages. This March, we'll distribute an insert with updated listing pages. We'll also create a PDF of the updated directory, which will be emailed.
Garden Club spring meeting
Recent meetings have featured a demonstration on propagating plants using cuttings, as well as an informative discussion on irrigation methods, including how to install drip irrigation. Come learn and meet neighbors! Come learn and meet neighbors! Email Jean Caruso for info on the next meeting.

Walter Reeves on Ivy in trees
Letting ivy grow up into your trees is asking for trouble. Georgia’s best known gardening expert, Walter Reeves, has a good Q & A on why ivy up in trees is bad and should be removed. He talks about the hard work to do the job. Read it on Walter’s website, which is chock full of good information related to plants.
TME Car Club Show - May 15th
The Spring event will be held on May 15th from 4:00 to 5:30 PM at 1311 Pebble Creek Rd., home of Joel and Pam Lackey. The club's events are a blast, whether you're a car enthusast or just want to get out and socialize, so mark your calendar. Library opens on Beechwood
A first for the neighborhood! The “Little Free Library” is open curbside at 3160 Beechwood, the home of “librarian” Natalie Wood. She invites you to come by and take a book/leave a book. The selection of books changes with every visit, so come often. Free parking!
Carol Cartus heads Welcome Committee
A big thank you to Carol Cartus, who has worked diligently through the pandemic to welcome new homeowners to Terrell Mill Estates. She's chair of the Welcome Committee, so if you know about someone moving to the neighborhood, email Carol a heads-up. The sooner we have contact information for new neighbors, the sooner we can reach out to them.
TME Covenants are on our website
When you buy in Terrell Mill Estates, you come under our covenants automatically. They are straightforward and have served us well in maintaining neighborhood standards and home values. The covenants are printed in your directory and can be downloaded from the Covenants page of the website. If you are planning an addition, please read the covenants carefully.
